Jack Nicholson is in talks to join the cast of James L. Brooks' latest romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson.
The film follows Witherspoon who plays a professional softball player torn between two men, the good guy (Rudd) and a charming fastball pitcher (Wilson).
Bill Murray was rumored to take the role of the father but Jack has become seriously interested in reuniting with Brooks.
He should be!
Nicholson's Oscar-winning performances in Terms of Endearment and As Good As It Gets were results from collaborations with the writer/director.
Jack should do it!
The last time we saw him on screen was at a Laker game!

Forbes decided to do yet another(!) survey - they gotta keep their writers busy - and they decided to take a look at some numbers.
What did they discover?
They discovered that Will Smith is the most valuable actor in Hollywood.
Smith was the only actor to received a perfect 10 in the Forbes Star Currency survey.
Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Angelina Jolie all tied for second place. The rest of the top 20 include Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, and Matt Damon.
These are the folks who can almost guarantee to pull in numbers at the box office, regardless of the film they're starring in. And with a combined 69 nominations and 15 wins, as far as film awards go, they're not so bad at acting either.
So in an economy where people might not want to spent $10 on a movie they might end up not liking, we bet we'll be seeing Will Smith's face a whole lot more these days!

Another stupid idea coming to TV!
According to Variety, ABC is turning the book/movie Witches of Eastwick into a TV show pilot.
A lot of you probably weren't even born when Eastwick was released. But it was a GREAT film!
It's basically about three women who turn to witchcraft after losing the men in their lives. They conjure up a devil-like character, who then proceeds to seduce all three of them.
The movie starred Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Will ABC hire the movie cast??? Don't think any of them are very busy these days!
It would be Golden Girls meets Witches of Eastwick! Now that would be interesting.

Two things I never thought I would see together on screen. Quirky movie great Jack Nicholson is set to shock fans in his new thriller The Departed by wearing a sex toy in a sleazy scene. The Chinatown star, who threatened to set fire to co-star Leonardo DiCaprio to heighten the tension in one scene, felt he’d add to the sick sexual nature of his character Frank Costello by strapping on a dildo.Â
And, as shocked as co-star Matt Damon was, he admits Nicholson’s last-minute decision to wear a sex toy impacted his whole performance in the Martin Scorsese film. Damon says, “It’s Sunday night and I’m looking over the script and I’m getting ready and I get a phone call: ‘Hello, its Marty… Jack had some ideas for the scene tomorrow in the XXX movie theatre where he meets up with your character and he’s gonna wear a dildo.’ I said, ‘Alright, I’ll see you at seven!’ “So, we went in the next day and we rehearsed and Jack said, ‘Here’s the deal - I’m gonna come in and I’m gonna sit there in the overcoat and turn around and I’m gonna pull out the big dildo and we’re gonna laugh.’ “I thought that was a good idea to get into the scene. Jack brought this incredibly new layer to that character. He made him more obscene in a way that felt authentic. “I said to Marty, ‘If Jack is introducing this sexual element into this, then it’s fair game in the script and we have to reference it from my character’s stand point. “I said, ‘We’re in this macho world and everyone’s beating each other up and knocking each other over the head with glasses and throwing people through walls, and Jack is a sexual dynamo so in contrast I wanted to lose every fight I’m in and I don’t want my dick to work. I want to get an aggressive run in the other direction.’”
